How Big A Role Does Stress Play In Fibromyalgia?

Answering ‘what causes fibromyalgia?’ is not an easy proposition. The problem stems from the fact that it is an ‘invisible’ disease. There are no early warning signs that a case of fibromyalgia is developing, there are no tests to confirm or deny that a person has fibromyalgia, the only way of diagnosing it is via it’s symptoms. Symptoms include Chronic Pain, chronic fatigue, insomnia, hypersensitivity to touch, depression and irritable bowel syndrome. While it is not fatal or degenerative it is a disease that will affect every aspect of a sufferers life and in roughly 30% of cases will make it impossible to work fulltime.
One thing that is common to all cases of fibromyalgia is stress, though it is not clear whether the stress causes the symptoms, or the symptoms cause the stress. Stress is a very broad term used to describe the perception of a threat, either physical or psychological, and a helplessness to deal with it. Stress sufferers feel under pressure continuously and this continued state can cause serious problems. In fact doctors estimate that over 90% of diseases are either directly caused by stress or severely worsened by stress, so fibromyalgia being a result of stress is not only possible, but statistically it is almost certain.
What remains unanswered however is why some people react differently to stress that others. In the same situation one may feel stressed while another feels motivated by a challenge. Two people stressed by the same situation may channel that stress entirely differently. One may handle the situational stress well and later develop a skin rash, the other may panic when put in a stress causing situation, but have no health related side effects.
How and why our bodies relate differently to stress is difficult to explain, as it the definition of stress itself. Like Fibromyalgia it is not a measurable problem, it appears to be psychologically based and differs from person to person. For some people the idea of speaking in public is horrifying and the most stressful thing there is, for others it is a fun activity, for others it is a job. The situation is identical, but the response is different so clearly stress is a psychological thing and the response is unique to the wiring of the mind.
The result of this is that the treatment and cure of fibromyalgia is quite different from other diseases. Medical treatment can be given to relieve the symptoms, but it cannot be given to prevent fibromyalgia itself. That requires dealing with the root of the problem, the mind, stress and how we deal with things on a holistic level. Healing fibromyalgia is a process that is carried out internally and with the right information and mindset it can end.

Isn’t it weird when one day you “discover” something seemingly for the first time and then lo and behold the very next day something else comes along to reinforce what you just found?
This is the case right here. I thought it was compelling enough for you to consider: Go Mangosteen
I hope this really does help. May God Bless!
Mangosteen Miracle?

Well, I just met someone today at a small business networking meeting who said that she suffered horribly from fibromyalgia for years and years. She had such amazing results from taking the Xango mangosteen juice that she is now a distributor. Now I know that this in itself sounds suspicious but since I met the woman and she seemed so utterly believable, I just had to pass this on.
I have no affiliation with Xango and I have never tasted their mangosteen (I have tried it in the health food stores under different names – I suppose just like anything else you need to check out the amount of the critical ingredients that are included and how they are processed). According to the brochure that she gave me, mangosteen is exceptional not just because of the antioxidants but because of the xanthones with are anit-inflammatory and have disease fighting capabiliites (supposedly laboratories around the world have found xanthones to be active against infectious agents, cholesterol damage and cancer cells).
The cost of 3x per day dosage for someone with a problem to overcome is about $100. That is a lot for juice but small if it changes your life and from my point of view, you are not risking a whole lot to find out. Apparently you should start seeing results in a few weeks.
With that said, I am going to try the product on my mother who has dementia. We will see.
Hot Pepper Pain Killer

It’s Good to Know: The Hot-Pepper Pain Killer
The days of drooling for hours after a visit to the dentist could become a thing of the past. Researchers are working on an alternative to local anesthetics like Novocain and lidocaine. The new formula combines a normally inactive ingredient of lidocaine and capsaicin (the substance that makes chili peppers “hot”). Together, they block pain receptors in the body. But unlike conventional pain killers, they don’t block “touch” receptors or paralyze surrounding muscles.

Amazing – Combining Devil’s Claw, Boswellia and Glucosamine

Devil’s Claw indeed has nasty fruits but it is one of the world’s major medicinal plants.
It got it’s name from its unusually shaped, spiny fruit.
Southern African exports it by the tons to mostly Europe, but it is available here in the U.S.
Currently, Devil’s Claw is harvested in the wild and although there has been some concern about it being over-harvested, it is currently being protected in the three countries where it grows (South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia).
Devil’s Claw has amazing cure all capabilities. Some of its properties include being an analgesia, an anti-arrhythymic,
hypotensive, an anti-bacterial, anti- inflammatory, a diuretic, a laxative, a purgative, a sedative, and a uterocontractant agent. Whew – and that is the short list.
In the western world, it is mainly being used for arthritis and rheumatism. Reports say that is works similarly to cortisone, but without the bad side effects.
There are some contraindications. People who are diabetic or who have gastric or duodenal ulcers should not use products containing Devil’s Claw. It should also not be used in very high doses (particularly as a strong tea- as is sometimes the case in Europe).
According to Wikipedia’s entry on Harpagophytum Procumbens (the scientific name), some smaller studies in Germany found Devil’s Claw to have indistinguishable results from that of VIOX when tested in the treatment of chronic low back pain.
Boswellia is a moderate to large, branching tree found in the dry hill area of India. A gummy resin is exuded when the tree trunk is tapped. The purified extract of this resin is used in modern herbal preparations with reliable and relatively consistent scientific data supporting its effectiveness when used for arthritis, inflammatory bowel disorders and autoimmune conditions. No wonder it has been used since ancient times to help ant-inflammatory conditions.
Glucosamine is the precursor used to rebuild joint cartlilage. There is some controversy as to its effectiveness. The National Institutes of Health in a 6 month blind study found negligible difference between the effectiveness of glucosamine and a placebo. One of the major drawbacks of this trial was that glucosamine hydrocloride was used instead of glucosamine sulfate and that the two substances differ strongly from each other. More research is still needed.
Nonetheless, glucosamine is a popular alternative medicine used by consumers for the treatment of osteoarthritis because it is a natural substance produced by the human body. Glucosamine is also frequently used in veterinary medicine as an unregulated but widely accepted supplement.
Please note that glucosamine in the market place is often produced from shellfish. those who are allergic to shellfish should beware – although the allergen portion of the shellfish is the flesh itself – not from the shell, which is where the glucosamine is derived.
Given the strength of the first two herbal remedies and the promise of the third, I think it is interesting to find that Native Remedies has combined the three into one convenient and inexpensive product. Native Remedies is a well know and trusted company that is located in the United States and has sales all around the world.
The Native Remedies website is full of compelling testimonials.
If you are open to using herbal remedies, why not give this product a try to relieve your fibroyalgia pain. It is much more inexpensive than many of the herbal remedies I have seen advertised on the web for fibromyalgia pain.
