TAT

Here is something that has not been tried out on Fibromyalgia but I am thinking there is nothing to lose by trying it (except pain). It will not even cost you anything to try it.

It is a simple accupressure technique that you can do anywhere since you can easily apply the pressure to your self (one hand to the front of your head and the other to the back).

I have communicated with the woman, Tapas Fleming, who is the creator and promoter of this method and she is quite interesting too. We both share a common interest in supporting Veteran families who are coping with the stress, anger, loss and grief of PTSD (see my free podcast on my site for a self help guided imagery meditation to help cope with these things – perhaps it will help support fibromyalgia – see note at the end of this post*).

On the TAT website, you will find remarkable stories of the success that this method has with Veterans and others who are suffering.

Now, I know that people who are suffering with fibromyalgia cringe when there is even a remote suggestion that fibromyalgia has anything to do with emotions. So, please understand that I believe the mind/body connection is manifested in many, many ways. Tapas talks about “cell memory” which is a foreign idea to many people. It is not the first time that I heard of this concept. Another method that addresses it uses a technology called voice mapping ( I am wondering about the power of that for fibromyalgia too). So, try being open to the possibility of getting some relief (whether that is temporary or long term). Go to: tatlife.com

Please come to my other site to try the free meditation podcast that was created for caregivers (PTSD and dementia – my mother has this). The CDs were distributed to mental health professionals around the country and they gave it thumbs up (although the recording – esp. the beginning of the first one can be improved). CD 1 is the free podcast and I hope to render the second one also as a podcast. You will find this on my small business site, where I offer permanent discounts on award winning services to Veteran Business owners. Since I understand the benefits of having your own on line business would work well for people with fibromyalgia (work when you feel well and no need to travel) I am offering the discounts that I give to Veteran business owners to those who have fibromyalagia as well. My business helps small businesses get found and grow on the web..
